one of the things that fascinates and baffles me about l.a is the randomness and accidental beauty and strangeness of the architecture here…generally the only pragmatic and non-arbitrary aspect of l.a architecture is: will it fall down in an earthquake? apart from that criterion it’s a free for all.

I’ve been a staunch LA hater, as any red-blooded New Yorker/SFer would be. But recently I’ve been coming around to the idea that LA must exist, for the sake of us all. Moby’s documentation of the weird architecture there is a testament to that.
